This Privacy Policy explains how EditorBuzz ("we," "us," or "our"), the publisher of https://editorbuzz.com, collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit our website. By using the site you agree to the practices described here and to our Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site. Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
We collect information you choose to give us. This includes your name and email address when you contact us, pitch a story, subscribe to our newsletter, or leave a comment, along with the contents of any message you send. Providing this information is always voluntary, but some features — such as commenting or receiving the newsletter — will not work without it.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, we automatically receive certain technical data when you visit. This includes your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, referring URL, the pages you view, the time and date of your visit, and how long you stay. This data is collected through server logs, cookies, and similar technologies, and is used in aggregate to understand how the site performs and how readers use it. For a detailed explanation of the specific cookies we use, see our Cookie Policy.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website and its content;
- To respond to messages, corrections, pitches, and partnership inquiries;
- To send the newsletter to readers who have subscribed, with an unsubscribe link in every email;
- To measure readership and performance through analytics;
- To display advertising that funds our free, independent journalism;
- To detect, prevent, and address spam, abuse, and security issues;
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never share the contents of private correspondence with advertisers.
Advertising
EditorBuzz is supported by display advertising, including ads served through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to our website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site. Google’s use of the DoubleClick/DART cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in the following ways:
- Visit Google Ads Settings to opt out of personalized ads from Google;
- Visit www.aboutads.info/choices to opt out of participating third-party vendors in the Digital Advertising Alliance;
- European visitors can also use www.youronlinechoices.com.
Opting out does not remove advertising from the site; it means the ads you see will be less relevant to you. Other third-party ad networks we may work with in the future will be listed in our Cookie Policy as they are added.
Analytics
We use analytics services to understand aggregate reader behavior — which articles are read, for how long, and on what devices. Analytics providers process technical identifiers such as truncated IP addresses and cookie IDs on our behalf. This data is used for statistics only and is not used to identify you personally.
Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data only where a lawful basis applies: (a) consent, for example when you subscribe to the newsletter or accept non-essential cookies; (b) legitimate interests, such as securing the site, measuring readership, and answering messages you send us, balanced against your rights; (c) performance of a contract, where you request a service from us; and (d) legal obligation, where processing is required by law. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.
Your GDPR Rights
Subject to conditions in applicable law, you have the right to: access a copy of the personal data we hold about you; rectify inaccurate data; erase your data; restrict or object to processing, including processing for direct marketing; data portability; and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@editorbuzz.com with the subject line Privacy Request. We will respond within 30 days and may ask you to verify your identity first.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and how they are used; to request access to or deletion of your personal information; to correct inaccurate information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information for money. Cookie-based ad personalization may be considered "sharing" under the CPRA; you can opt out using the advertising controls listed above or the cookie controls described in our Cookie Policy. California requests can be submitted to hello@editorbuzz.com with the subject line California Privacy Request.
Children’s Privacy (COPPA)
EditorBuzz is a general-audience publication and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at hello@editorbuzz.com and we will delete it promptly.
Data Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Correspondence is retained while a matter is active and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are rotated automatically. Comment data remains published until you request removal. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymized.
International Data Transfers
EditorBuzz is operated globally, and our hosting, analytics, and advertising providers may process data on servers located outside your home country, including in the United States. Where data is transferred from the EEA or UK, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and provider certifications to protect it to the standard required by applicable law.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including HTTPS encryption across the entire site, access controls, and reputable hosting infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Third-Party Links
Our articles link to external websites we do not control. This policy applies only to editorbuzz.com. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of every site you visit. See our Disclaimer for more on external links.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on this page, and continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
